End Period Poverty – World Menstrual Hygiene Day May 28

World Menstrual Hygiene Day is observed annually on May 28. It aims to break menstrual taboos and raise awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene management for women and adolescent girls.

Menstruation is one of the leading causes of absenteeism of adolescent girls in School. This has led to girls lagging behind the boys in their school work and performances. SRF hopes to bridge that gap through our Menstrual Hygiene Project.

In this regard, we have designed a weekly activity from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th May 2023. During that period, we will be engaging on varieties of activities that will include but are not limited to: community sensitization, awareness raising, media engagements, school sensitization tours, and distribution of items used for menstrual care and hygiene.

Join us and let’s end period poverty TOGETHER…
